Hello everyone! Finally found a minute to check in. We have been undergoing some major renovations here at Happy Acres for the last two months. Due to an incompetent framer we have always had major issues with our floors, that gradually got worse over time. We had to move out of the house so that the entire bottom floor could be removed and joists repaired and the floor replaced. Whoo! What a mess! But the good news is the house now has hardwood throughout and much needed upgrades. We've still got much painting to go but should finish up within the next two weeks and finally move all the furniture back in! Can't wait! Just a little too old for all this work.
I have started a facebook page that I would like to invite you all to. I appreciate all of my followers through my year of blogging but I have so little time anymore and stay mainly on facebook when on the computer. I will keep my blog open and hopefully find some time one day to post again. But if you have facebook I would love to have you "Like" my page and follow Steadmans' Corner. Thanks and hope to see you there!

Sorry to be absent for so long. Here's a few new fun things that I have been gathering lately. A couple of old farm scoops. I bought them to sell but now I might just have to keep them around for a while!
A sweet box of wooden forks.
Love this bubble bottle!
And for some reason I have developed a love of old straws!
Hope to settle down after the weekend and nest a little more. So looking forward to Autumn weather and decorating!
Happy Rednesday everyone!

Here is our primitive cabinet that we use for display. It doesn't look all that great but maybe one day!
Love this little green cubby display.
Have you ever heard of Egg Preservative? Me either.
Hope your week is good. I will be back next week. Gotta get my son packed and ready for move-in day at his college. Boy will this house be quiet.

Happy Monday to ya! Hope you aren't getting bored with the booth.
I am really not sure why this egg carton is something that I think I can bear to get rid of! ;)
Bob White syrup was always on the table when I was young.
I have a thing for old ice cream containers!
Hope your week gets off to a great start! I love Mondays.
I get to play today at Candlelight Antiques! So excited!

So glad that I had a pretty decent day of finding replacements.
We are looking forward to a weekend of cooler weather. So excited!
Hope the end of your week is grand!

A few pics of our new booth at the most delightful antique store in North Alabama, Candlelight Antiques!
This book cracked me up when I found it. I thought it was a hoot and a half!
I love these children's books.
This tool chest has such display capabilities!
Wish I had room for this cabinet at home! ;(
Sorry to have been absent for so long. Most of my craziness has ended now. Still have to get daughter # 2 back to college and my baby boy off also. Then my life that I've known for the last 22 and a half years will come to a screeching halt! Wow.
Looking forward to my new adventures. Hope to be sharing all the fun with y'all!
Blessings from Bama!

Been paintin' and sandin'. Still need some drawer pulls and knobs, but glad to get these almost completed and delivered to Callie's new house at college!
Next up, changing to mustard colored paint for Casey's new home!
And then the wedding, and then moving into our new booth, and then Dalton off to college and then...a two week nap!
Hang on friends, I'll be back regularly soon!

Last week while I was shopping with my best friend Angie and my most favorite girl from "Up North" I found something that I could not resist!
This sweet folder of letters written to a Miss Jeanne who spent the first week of July in the grand ole year of 1955 at Camp Mary Munger in Trussville, Alabama.
Isn't Trussville a fun word to say! I wish I was from there!!! I can just hear myself saying' "I'm from TrusssssssVillllllle" in my sweetest and most southern drawl. ;)
Besides wanting to read each and every letter that was sent to Miss Jeanne, I knew that I had a small collection of things in the attic that would make for a cute display with the folder.
Here's the front.
And the cute little back.
Here are the sand pails just in case you are interested in those also. ;)
The three little pigs have the wolf just where they want him!
Tom Tom the Pipers Son.
And who else could this be but Mother Goose herself?!
Oh no, It looks like Humpty Dumpty did fall after all.
Hey diddle diddle, that sure is a cute cat with a fiddle.
One day I hope to have these displayed out in the house somewhere. I pull them out every now and then just for fun.
Can't wait to read the letters either. But I think I will save them for a good ole rainy day.
Hope life is good for you and yours. Blessings from Bama!

My new basket that I found while antiquing in the Smoky Mountain area.
The tag said it was an apple picking basket. I saw one a few days ago on another blog that said theirs was French. Hmm....I really wish I could remember whose blog that was!!
Well Zeke and I found another good use for it!
Gotta go. Zeke is ready for his evening stroll.
Happy Weekend Everyone!
