Whew...

Sorry that I have been missing for a while! Life has just gotten in the way of blogging! This time of year is always so busy!

One day while shopping at Candlelight Antiques I saw this weird thing that I spent the rest of my time shopping trying to decide what could be done with it! First of all, what is it? A step for something???

Joy, the owner, told me how she had hung it in the window, so I decided to do the same.

I still need to clean it up and work on the wood a little. But I have enjoyed it hanging in my kitchen window!

I think it will be fun to decorate with seasonal items throughout the year.

I hope to get around to everyone's blogs tonight for some new inspirations!!! Been missing all y'all!

Happy Monday!

Chippy Green Happiness

Waiting for the sun to slip below the horizon...

...just so I could get a few pics of  "Chippy Green Happiness"!

What could it be? It is wearing my all time favorite vintage shade of green!

My new/old farm table that I found over the weekend.

Dear John keeps making fun of me gushing all about how "Happy" it makes me to look through my windows and see my favorite shade of green with all its chippiness!

Can't wait to spend some mornings out there with my beloved one!

Oh yeah, and I even may let Dear John join us! ;)

Ahhhh...

Flowers are planted. Now, that is more like it! ;)

Feels good to have all that finished. Did ya notice my new tooltray window boxes? We still have one bed to finish that we decided was time for a redo. And I am working on some "Window boxes" for the house. And then it will be complete! ;)

Now, off to visit y'all and see what you've been doing!

"Dog Days"

Here in the big ol' metropolitan area of Ardmore, we have a flea market every weekend called "Dog Days".
Of course, it started out as a trade day for animals and such and you can still pick up a goat, chicken, or even a dog if that is your fancy! I made a quick trip there yesterday and picked up the few items below.

Oh wait...I forgot that I threw in my Kitchen Klenzer. I bought that a week ago at an Antique Store. And the smiling spoon and knife were a gift from Angelia "My Bestie"! But I did get the large red tray and matching hanging whatchamacallit at Dog Days.

Who doesn't need some cleanser that  "Hurts only Dirt"!

I framed this little grain sack. It has some stains but I love the yellow house and the chicks!

Oh no!...The baby chicks have locked mother hen in a crate and are running around causing all sorts of  "Chaos"!

Oh well, back to reality. Dishes to clean, laundry to wash, and groceries to buy.

A Marvelous Monday to One and All!

Happy Weekend!

I bought this handheld fan this winter partly because I love pictures of children and partly because it was from Scottsville, Kentucky. The former home of one of my favorite Aunties! (Her new home is in Glory!)  It has spent way too much time tucked away since no where that I put it would work out. ;(

I finally found him a home in my back door arrangement!

Now, I get to enjoy it everyday!

Happy Weekend Y'all!

And Blessings from Alabama!

Waaa!!!

Help! I need motivation to clean my dirty home!

But all I want to do is play with these!

Red and Turquoise that is!

Go away cold weather so that I can go out and play!

Any ideas on a cure for my illness?

More shopping for red, white, and turquoise? Yes, I do believe that will help! Poor house! It  may never be clean again.

Happy Monday!

Hello Friends! Sorry to be gone so long but I am still very busy trying to get Happy Acres ready for Spring! Am so ready to have flowers again!

A while back Amy @ With a Vintage Twist awarded me with a Blogger Award! Thanks Amy! Sorry that it took so long to acknowledge!

So I thought I would play along with The Versatile Award and list 7 things about myself. I always like to read the posts others do about themselves! Here goes...
  1. I love to fish! Even more than I love to antique! And I do not get to do it enough!
  2. I only have 1 brother that I rarely see and am married to an only child  which means that I have very little family for get togethers and such and that makes me sad.
  3. I have had a weight problem since 5th grade. (Especially after Thyroid removal due to cancer!)
  4. I love to do laundry. Weird huh?
  5. I hate to shop for anything other than junk or antiques, therefore I have very few clothes or shoes or even groceries!
  6. Dusk is my favorite time of day!
  7. Okay and the weirdest thing about me that you may keep you from ever visiting my blog again is that I love to read Bigfoot Stories! I have been fascinated with Bigfoot since I was a little girl and saw the movie about him at the local theater! Now remember, I did not say that I believed the stories.

So now you know just a little more about me and I hope that it doesn't send you away screaming and never looking back! ;)
